Fasting by Weekdays? That's Not How Planets Work, and Not How the Body Works

Every week, many people fast on a fixed day. Monday for the Moon. Thursday for Jupiter. Saturday for Shani. They do it with faith, and faith is beautiful. But let's ask a simple question: does a planet really care what day of the week it is?
In the SALSA® Method of Astrology, the answer is no.
Your planets follow your Dasha, not the calendar
Each of us goes through planetary periods called Dashas. Inside the main period there are smaller ones, all the way down to the Praan period, which can change within hours. The planet running your current period is the one shaping your energy right now.
Two people can have completely different planets active on the same Monday. So when everyone fasts on Monday "for the Moon", most of them are following the calendar, not their chart.
Your body follows hunger, not the calendar
The body has its own wisdom. It tells you when it needs food through real hunger. When we ignore that signal, problems start.
Eating when you're not hungry makes you feel heavy, slow and bloated. Digestion suffers, and over time this adds weight and dullness.
Not eating when you're really hungry brings acidity, weakness, irritation, anger and poor focus. Many arguments at home and at work start with an empty stomach.
So the first rule is simple: listen to your body first. Then let your Dasha guide what you eat.
What each planet's period suggests
These are not strict diets. They are gentle, practical guidance, free of fear:
- Sun: protein-rich food for strength and confidence
- Moon: cooling food such as rice, milk, coconut and cucumber
- Mars: protein-rich and spicy food for energy and drive
- Mercury: eggs, salads, greens and light, alert eating
- Jupiter: clean, sattvic food, in moderation
- Venus: beautifully presented, pleasing meals and juices
- Saturn: very light, simple meals; a water-and-salad day is fine
- Rahu: simple, grounding meals, with no stimulants
- Ketu: very simple food; mindful fasting suits this period
One important tip: avoid fasting during Sun, Moon or Mars periods, whatever day of the week it is. These planets need fuel.
Darr nahi, samajh
Blind rules create fear: "If I don't fast on Saturday, something bad will happen." The SALSA® Method of Astrology replaces fear with understanding. When you know which planet is active and what your body is asking for, food becomes a tool for clarity, not a ritual done out of worry.
